Painting for Christmas

I have decided that making Christmas gifts are so much more fun than buying them. I am able to be so much more personal and feel like I am giving more of myself. not to mention that it is SO much cheaper. I am painting for the first time and have found that I enjoy it very much. Keep in mind I am no real artist I just like the way that the paint falls onto the canvas. I used to spend so much time looking for affordable wall art for the house and to decorate Austin's room with. Now I feel like I can paint what I want for the the kids room and it will be orignal and not a Target knockoff. I was having a lot of trouble knowing how I wanted to decorate Addison's room. It is falling more together now after a few pieces that I have done for Christmas and it is a all for a fraction of the price. It feels so good to get out all of those well intentioned purchases from Micheals and to put them to good use. The best part is that I feel like I am finally getting something accomplished other than diapers, dishes and laundry.

The first blog

This is my first attempt into the world of blogging. We shall see how it goes. I wanted to start this page so that friends and family who live far away (and there are a few of them) could have a more intimate view of our family's life. We are a busy, young family of four who are experiencing the many joys and difficulties of raising young children, building a lasting marraige and seeking out God first. As we blog along I hope that you (our friend) will be able to witness our trials and achievements and take part in our celebrations and tears. I hope that you enjoy :)
